Samsung 4G Conquer (Sprint) Review

A $ 99.99, after two years of service agreement and mail-in rebate, Samsung, Sprint's 4G 4G Conquer first smartphone from less than $ 100, although some of the older 4G phones now cost less than $ 100 in front. Fortunately, the Samsung 4G Conquer is preparing a lot of power, high-speed 4G speeds, and a fantastic call quality. It is not intended to compete with Sprint's top-of-the-line for Android phones, but it's great to get a 4G hard on a small budget.

Design, call quality, performance and Applications

4G Conquest is fine, if not luxurious. It measures 4.6 by 2.4 by 0.5 inches (DRC) and weighs 4.1: Light oz. The back is textured black plastic with a chrome strip between the matte black plastic on the front. The 3.5-inch capacitive LCD 320 x 480 pixels. Although it is bright, flexible and standard media for Android devices, it pales in comparison to higher resolution screens in most of his brothers 4G. Write to the QWERTY keyboard on the screen was good, and the four physical buttons are placed below the screen are large and easy to press.

4G Conquer connects to Sprint CDMA 3G and 4G WiMax network, Wi-Fi and 3G and 4G speeds were right along with the excellent Motorola Photon 4G ($ 199.99, 4.5 stars). Ookla is running Speedtest.net soft, so I 4G download speeds of up to 9 Mbps down, which is large enough. The average close to 4 Mbps, which is still good. Like all of Sprint 4G devices, limited to Conquer 1.5 Mbps uploads for 4G. The conquest can also be used as a mobile hotspot to provide network access to up to five units with the right level.

Call quality was great. Expresses its full, rich and natural on the headset and the volume is very high. At the other extreme, your phone calls well with decent noise cancellation, many voices may sound a touch dull. The speaker is loud enough for outdoor use, but the voices are a bit thin and harsh in comparison with the listener. Calls sounded clear through an Aliph Jawbone Bluetooth headset icon ($ 99, 4 stars), but lacks a little depth. Voice dialing over Bluetooth works well without training. Battery life is excellent, 7 hours and 42 minutes of talk time.

Conquer 4G using the latest version of Android, 2.3.4 (gingerbread), and Samsung have done very little to mess with it. You will not find Samsung's TouchWiz UI here, making phone calls for fans of the android stock. There are still some bloatware removed, and pre-loaded Sprint identity packages, so it is not for purists irreducible Android, but Zippy performance should offset this. The phone is equipped with a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor MSM8655 S2. Its benchmark scores can not touch, the latest and greatest dual-core Android devices, but Conquer among the best of its single-core class, turning in some excellent numbers. He also tested very well for the performance of the browser that felt quickly in regular use.
