If we were to judge only according to the specifications of the device, one can conclude that it is a polished tablet technology. Comes with two cameras (front and rear), stereo speakers, full access to Android Market, Wi-Fi, 3G and Bluetooth and integrated GPS and a MicroSD card slot. However, after taking the 7 ViewPad test our impressions are quite positive, there are problems with many of these features.

Since each SIM card can be put ViewPad 7, we conclude that this tablet, ViewSonic aims for a clientele that is often used in 3G networks, or even a game, which is a bit 'different from similar devices. Although it was teeming with tablets in the field in time, it seems that ViewSonic jumped the gun with the ViewPad 7, leaving plenty of space engineering retouching.

Construction & Design

ViewPad 7: The body is made entirely of plastic, but leaves the impression of craftsmanship is very impressive - it is a robust, compact and durable. ViewSonic greatly emulate the look of the iPhone 4, ie, the tablet is a fairly sharp edges and is slightly curved around the corners. The sport a thin black border around the screen, the side is silver and not too thick, while the back is a glossy black which looks very modern. The battery is not covered and can not be changed, just like the iPad.

Compared with the tablet it looks like most of the technical specifications according to the Galaxy Tab, the ViewPad 7 is a little wider, but shorter and thinner. The two tablets to produce the same sensation when held in one hand, and it is commendable that ViewPad 7 can be used easily with one hand. It is 7.06 x 4.33 x 0.45 inches high and weighs 12.96 ounces It is almost as heavy as Galaxy Tab, which is considerably lighter than the iPad.

The capacitive screen is 7 inches and 800 x 480 pixels, which is a good combination, especially in the Android 2.2, which is bound to such a resolution. Yet, the ratio of the height and width of the screen is not responsible for normal people to support devices that have the same resolution, images seem to be a bit 'stretched horizontally. This is the ViewPad first to run when the screen is opened by pulling the turn of the lock across the screen - the icon is not circular, but oval-shaped (like a relaxed towards the egg, although it is not so obvious).

ViewSonic Representatives has already spoken on this topic, knowing that some users may have problems with it. Principals indicated that they did not want to back off on the resolution selected, simply because many applications available on Android Market, also require the resolution, and nothing else to do.

Elongation light image is not a big problem in practice, and users will soon get used to it, however, the text is smaller on the screen may seem a bit 'confused at times because of this distortion. Perhaps because of resolution, and perhaps because of the production technology of LCD, which can not be said that the ViewPad 7 delivers sharp images. Yet, the colors are very bright and cheerful, and the response of the touch screen is very accurate and timely.

The tablet provides a multi-touch, which is quite stable - while zooming pictures and sites, each tablet is the scope of the right to zoom. It also supports scrolling, but it is not so precise. It would be better if it would be a bit 'faster, and if it is able to scroll most of the website, the user's fingers moved quickly on the screen.

Four tactile buttons located at the bottom of the screen in black border, which is typical of the Android operating system (designed to access the context menu, return to the home screen, enabling research and the key to a kick) . It is rare that ViewSonic has used non-standard brands of these four keys, with the odd training. As a result, it takes time for the user to get used to them (ie stop making mistakes when selecting the keys you want).
